Hayley Williams, Market Manager
Hayley Williams has managed the Hardwick Farmers Market since early 2022, after vending homemade small batch kombucha during the 2021 season. In January of 2024, she started in her current position of Local Food Coordinator at the Center for an Agricultural Economy here in Hardwick. Managing the farmers market is her favorite part of this work! She currently lives in a tiny house in Craftsbury with her dog Luna, and loves to grow, cook, eat, and share food - especially when she can purchase it directly from her friends & neighbors!
Carol Fairbank, President
Carol is a first generation farmer at Broadfork Farmstead, a highly diversified, solar powered farm in the hills of Greensboro. She spends her time looking after the farm and livestock, teaching practical homestead skills, and hosting farm stay guests. She has a passion for local food systems and farmers markets, and enjoys working on projects that support community food independence and local food accessibility. She joined the Hardwick Farmers Market in 2021, and can be found there every summer Friday, offering the fruits of her joyful labor.
Bethany M. Dunbar, Secretary
Bethany is the Hardwick Farmers Market board secretary and Community Programs Manager at the Center for an Agricultural Economy. Her work at CAE includes community organizing and managing Atkins Field which hosts the market and is owned and stewarded by CAE. She is a former dairy farmer and journalist and lives in West Glover.
Steve Gorelick, Treasurer
Steve Gorelick began selling blueberries at the Hardwick Farmers’ Market in 2010, and now serves on the Board as Treasurer. He has been involved with the local food movement for more than 30 years, and co-authored Bringing the Food Economy Home: Local Alternatives to Global Agribusiness. He is on the steering committee of the Small Farm Guild, and Treasurer of the East Hardwick Grange. He and his partner homestead in Walden.
Megen Hall, Board Member
Megen has been an active member of the Hardwick Farmers Market since 2009 when she began her three year stint as market manager. From there, she went on to join the board and sell organic vegetables at the market. Megen lives and farms at Riverside Farm in East Hardwick with her husband, Dave, their two daughters, Piper and Mavis, and their two dogs, Tikka and Ruby…and the chickens too, of course. They like to spend their time homesteading, homeschooling, making good food, music and art, and enjoying the sun and snow.
Barbara Conn, Board Member
Barbara has been on the board of Hardwick Farmers Market for about 17 years. Barb originally started a market in Wolcott and then was invited to combine with Hardwick which revived both markets. Barb began by selling an array of vegetables and root beer floats with homebrewed root beer and homemade ice cream. For a number of years she was manager of both the Stowe Farmers Market and Waitsfield Farmers Market. In the winter she works at High Mowing Seeds, lives in Wolcott and is still growing annual vegetables and perennial berries and apples, passing on the tradition to her grandchildren.
Riva Reynolds
Riva Reynolds has been on the board of the Hardwick Farmer's Market for 4 years. Riva originally started as a vendor with Barr Hill, and has now transitioned to being a part-time vendor with her family's sugaring operation, Stannard Farm, offering maple cotton candy (general apologies to parents of sugared up kiddos!). When she's not selling gin with Barr Hill, or maple syrup with her family, Riva can usually be found on a local trail or out on Caspian Lake. She's been a lifelong shopper of farmer's markets wherever she's lived and believes that good farms, good food and good markets are a necessary part of a thriving community.
Annie McLean
Annie McLean and her family began vending at the Hardwick Farmers Market in 2022 and Annie went on to join the Board that fall. Annie and her family run Split Acres Farm in Sheffield, where they grow an array of specialty peppers, herbs, and other veggies that go into their small batch hot sauces, salsas, and spice blends.
